Plains Trains and Automobiles

On Dec 17th Callie went on her first plane ride that she can remember. The plane was kind of crowded so we ended up finding a window seat just behind the wing. It was a bit noisy when the pilots were testing the engine etc before take off but Callie did have a decent view. We get cleared for take off, the plane rushed down the runway and took to the sky. Callie was excited talking at least a mile a minute for the first couple of minutes. She was comparing everything to a rollercoaster ride. Then Callie looked out the window, looked at me, looked out the window again, then innocently asked why the wings weren't flapping.

She made a number of friends on the trip. . . the stewardess seated near the restrooms, the lady sitting next to me, and the guy four rows up she bumped accidentally both on the way to and from the bathroom. She loved the ride even though I had forgotten to charge the battery for the portable DVD player. When we met up with Ben and Kerry in baggage claim she went to "help" Ben collect the bags insisting she knew what our bags looked like. Thirty minutes later still no bags . . . So I went over to investigate. Callie had told Ben my bag was Black (it was a green duffel bag), her's was black (a black duffel bag) and the last one was also black (a kind of greyish/brown suitcase). Yeah all three bags had been circling on the belt for 15 min while she was deciding if those were infact our bags. Poor Ben kept asking "it that yours?" and Callie would reply "uuummm no." That's what you get for listening to a 5 yr old.
